# Platypus

> Platypus is AI booking for phone-only businesses, exposed to AI agents as an MCP server. One honest AI phone call books the job and earns the owner's consent to text; after that, every agent books that business by text, and the owner answers with one letter.

Platypus routes each booking request the cheapest way: to an existing agent found through Darwin Search, to a text if the owner already opted in, or to one AI voice call placed through Dial that discloses it is an AI in its first sentence. A booking is confirmed only when the owner says yes, on the call or by text. Every response is a typed outcome: pending, confirmed, countered, declined, expired or cancelled.

Platypus is a working prototype built at SpeedHacks (San Francisco, October 11, 2026). It runs locally in a no-key sandbox; there is no hosted API yet. Every page on this site is also available as Markdown: request it with `Accept: text/markdown`, or append `.md` to the path (the home page is `/index.md`).
